Anyone considering GCN Race pass?

UK here, get Eurosport via BT subscription package but have ended up throwing £6.99 for the month at the app so I can watch TDF without those annoy repetitive ads… HDMI cable via surface pro to my DLP UST projector to 100inch fixed fresco screen… French landscape shots look amazing… Would love to cut out surface/hdmi and stream it through 4k firestick or similar.

They said at launch they expected a FireTV Stick earlt next year. I don’t have a subscription TV service, but do pay for Eurosport Player. I feel like I’m paying double at the moment, but so handy to just put on Eurosport on my FireTV Stick yesterday evening rather than hooking up the chromecast - we’ve FireTV sticks on every TV, (for Netflix/ Prime/ Eurosport), and only one Chromecast in the house (plus the pain cave).

Can you be very specific about where to find this? ie. mobile app? which exact menu selections etc.? TIA.

Scrub that, found it:
Mobile App:
→ Race TV
→ Choose Stage in question in the central carousel
→ Scroll the mid-page menu displayed below the video and select HIGHLIGHTS/EXTRA
→ Scroll the list displayed below to find the highlights package of interest.

NB no Long Highlights package for yesterday’s stage so far… - Is that common?

NB2 they don’t yet seem to be surfacing the Highlights on the beta web player, so far as I can tell…

huh? The tour de france and this years classics were on GCN race pass…

Whether you get the Tour shown live depends where you live - e.g. it isn’t available in USA

TdF, Giro (?), and Vuelta are geo-restricted here in the states. Have to have NBC Sports Gold to watch it. Most of the Classics are on FLO Bikes

I subscribed to Peacock to watch the Tour. $5/month. Working okay so far. IOS app is a little bit flaky. No Roku app.

I’m glad you found them. Probably my assumption that it was both short and long highlights when I saw the ‘short highlights’ option and lots of others (which turned out to be French, Italian, etc)

Ive not seen anything other than ‘The breakaway’ on the beta webplayer either :+1:

At least for me the highlights don’t work on the web player (beta). On the app it works fine.

Love the race pass. The long highlights and commentary are brilliant. The breakaway is great. Not sure if I like or dislike Wiggins - he’s a debatable (but very entertaining) character. Also no adds is really worth the price for the coverage.

I’ve been using phone app, casting from phone app to TVs, and also the webplayer.

However, since yesterday, I have not been able to get anything later than 8th September races (TdF, TA) through the webplayer.

Anyone else missing today’s live racing from the webplayer ?

The carousel thing is flaky, I had to do some jiggerypokery with changing the browser size and using different browsers to get it to scroll all the way to the right. Livestream for Stage 12 is GCN+ | Cycling As You’ve Never Seen It.

That worked, thanks !

I have been clicking the tdf category, and that has allowed me to scroll all the way over.

It’s been the same for me but 10mins after I started watching today’s stage on my phone, the web player finally updated to the future :exploding_head:

Similar experience on iPad (using web player in Chrome) - if the carousel won’t let you scroll all the way to the right (to today’s coverage), then flip it into portrait…and problem solved. Select the race you want to watch, and flip back to landscape.
Makes you wonder how much testing of the web player they’re actually doing…

I was enjoying it so so. VPN was working on my iPad but not my iPhone. Somehow they can detect I’m Americanese when I use my VPN on iPhone.

Now the RaceTv Tab on my iPad is not there anymore. I’m glad I just signed up for a month only.

This is what I get on my iPad. RaceTV tab on bottom is missing. But on my iPhone, it’s there.

Edit: I deleted the app and redownloaded and it showed up

Seems like they’ve fixed this now … when you log in it seems to default to anchoring to ‘current’ races

It takes some gymnastics to get it to work (I’m on Android, but likely the same applies). It takes a combination of turning VPN off to sign in to see the race tv tab, then after going to that tab, turning VPN back on. Sometimes it requires a restart of the phone, but it does work. I’ve just gone to using my PC though, as it’s a lot easier there, as it always works with a VPN, and no extra work.

@Brian_GCN It’s broken for me on the Android App. Was working earlier on today, have come back after lunch and the live feed won’t go past the GCN Race Pass splash screen. Can watch all other pre-recorded videos on app…you pay to watch live and you get this, used to trying a few times when it doesn’t connect but this is now a completely dead feed.

Have tried updating, rebooting phone, logged out and back into the app and nothing other than the text saying LIVE Tour de France - Stage 18 :rage:
