I’ve been struggling with the iOS app running very slowly, especially when just opened. The UI often takes 20-30s to register screen taps, and then sometimes registers them all at once, creating stacked layers of the same window.
It seems like the app is loading information from the web first, and once that is done, it becomes more responsive. I am noticing this much more since the calendar update, which means I have to use the app rather than the web client.
I am, however, using a relatively old iPhone. iPhone SE 2020 (2nd generation) running iOS 17.7.2. With that said, other more demanding apps run perfectly fine on this same phone.
I thought this was just me and my old iPad, very slow on opening, takes an age to activate ‘load workout’, often multiple taps required, seems pot luck.
I’m having the same issue on iPad 5 mini, iPadOS 17.7.2. I get the spinning wheel for 20 seconds or so. Not just the spinning red circle in the upper right corner of the app (which I do get), but the spinning circle next to the wifi icon in the system tray. No issues on iPhone 13 mini, iOS 18.1.1.
I am having the same problem, with two iPad, but one (mini) worse than other. Also having the problem upon completing the workout, will not accept any responses on the activity, have to input later on my computer
