I read on the forum that you can now link an unstructured outside ride to a TR workout AFTER the ride has taken place and then rate the ride for AT purposes. 2 questions: 1. Does this process now inform AT and change Progression Levels and 2. Given that Time, Intensity, Kj’s and TSS will all never match to a workout which is the best metric to choose when linking so that AT gets the best information?

Yes, it does change PLs.
I don’t focus on any one metric, but the balance interval profile (energy systems, # of intervals, duration), time, and TSS. when looking to match an appropriate workout from the catalog. It isn’t a perfect science, but works pretty well, especially taking into account past rides/workouts.
