Bentonville - Family trail recommendations and bike rental

We have a trip to Texas in April and we are also visiting Oklohoma and Arkansas (travelling from the UK). We have 4 nights in Bentonville so want to spend a couple of days on the trails. I have a plan for one day when I will go off on my own so would be looking for somewhere to rent a decent MTB from.

Another day the wife and son will likely join me so will also want to rent a kids bike (10yr old) and a eMTB so the wife can enjoy as well as a family friendly loop (nothing technical at all).

Any recommendations for rental places and also trails to visit? Cheers!

I rented a Trek Supercaliber from Phat Cycles in downtown Bentonville a few years ago. From their location there are plenty of trails that are accessible without needing to drive…just a short roll down the hill. If you google Slaughter Pen in Bentonville, you can see all thew trail options that are close by, ranging from Greens to Black Diamonds (ski run rating system).

But that is just scratching the surface……so many great trail options in Bentonville!

I’ve had the best Bentonville rental experience from the Specialized Experience Center. The obvious downside is that you’re limited to Specialized bikes. But they were in great condition and dialed. Phat tire is also good. Mojo was sub par in terms of the condition (Sram and Shimano shifter derailleur combo does not shift well aside from 2-3 gears).

For trails that have a variety including beginner trails would be Slaughter Pen and Coler. All-American is a very fun beginner trail at Slaughter Pen and Family Flow is a favorite at Coler. Trail forks is going to be your best online resource. Rich Drew did a family friendly trail YouTube video that you can find easily.
