Yesterday I had a bike fit check to make sure I was in the correct position to ensure I don’t do any more harm to my back.
It was extremely interesting and as a 56 year old now and self bike builder and setting it up with the knowledge back in time, a number of subtle changes and a new pair of cycling shoes after a full 3d scan .
I got home and set off on a 35 mile cycle, I immediately felt the difference.
- Felt more compact generally
- No right hand numbness
- Cleat -Big difference climbing…felt was on top of the gear being able to push down , previous set up made me realize I was pushing towards and into the hill.
- The shorter reach allowed me to hold the brake hoods better and could sit on the drops for much longer.
- The new lake shoes felt like a solid platform, no pain on the outside of the right foot.
