Back on the theme of hooked vs hookless. I just saw this article on some new Orbea rims with a “mini hook” design. Consider me confused.

To me this is just dumb and confusing marketing. It looks hooked to me. That it’s smaller than some other hook doesn’t mean a lot as there is no standard hook size.
SRAM, as far as I’m concerned, are validating what I’ve been saying - you couldn’t pay me enough money to ride hookless rims on a road bike.

Quick update on this since another thread reminded me of this - I took my pirelli tires to 70psi the other day because the sidewall said so… did not blow off. Keep in mind the pirelli tires blow out to 39mm.
