Super stoked to get my new shoes in. Took a trainer ride last night and noticed A little numbness in my toes and heel. I’m going to do another ride with less torque on the boas. My question. I came from Shimano ME7 which fit pretty well. Definitely a wide shoe. These are a tad tight. Not so much in length but in width and in the toe box. Seems like a break in would help but ai have 30 days to make that happen. Those of you who ride these have they broken in much for you? I don’t think I have a particularly wide foot. I’m chalking some of it up to coming from the ME7s which were like crocs in comparison
I have the XXX and had the same issues. After a few weeks returned and went up 1 size. It was slightly better, but still had toe issues. Spent months soaking them in hot water and stretching them with a shoe stretcher after each ride. Unfortunately never could get them to feel comfortable and I really suffered on long rides.
Eventually gave up on them and went with a wide shoe (Lake 238). Instantly better and I’m very happy with them. My XXX are now useless, I guess I should try to sell them.

For me? No not really. No real break in and they’ve been pretty solid. They are quite snug but that has never presented any issues for me. If it does for you, maybe return and get one with a larger toe box as @MI-XC has suggested. I have some lakes as well and they are a tad bit wider and thus more comfortable.

Good to know. I checked our Lake and did their foot fit. Looks like I fall into regular on the 238 XC. Got off the trainer today and had a numb heel . I think it’s probably safe to say I need more room. I tried going light on the boas too.

Similar experience I had. I came from an entry-level Shimano shoe and upgraded to a pair of Specialized Road 6 kicks the same size. Their „performance fit“ was plainly killing me after more than 2 hours on the bike. Solution for me was sizing up and getting the wide model of the Road 7. Works fine now but no comparison to the glove-like feel the cheapos offered

I went and ordered a wide Lake 238 xc. After carefully measuring looks like this will be the best bet. Looking forward to checking them out. They seem like a quality shoe

Those are mine (i think, rings a bell). They are very comfy and are great as my mtb shoe.
