I have an entry to the Belgian Waffle Ride Kansas event for October 14, 2023. My trip to the area is now off (due to the likely government shutdown, I’m not going to wait until the last moment to see if I can get in my research at the relatively nearby Truman Presidential Library, which will be closed with a gov shutdown), and flying in just for the event makes no sense considering my present fitness and my gravel bike with a new frame has yet to arrive. (It should reach the US next week, but will it clear customs before the weekend…?)
