Can I adjust general base to meet my interests (e.g, TT)

Hi all. I flirt with TR in the cold months every year. Love the service.

Here’s my question. I’ve finished up General Base I (LV) and I’m about to start stage 2. Is there a way to influence it so that it knows my cycling preferences?

e.g, I’m thinking more and more about getting into some 40K TT’s next spring/summer (northern hemisphere). Can I make TR account for that in the general base section, or do I wait until the build phase?

(Alternatively, I’m looking for resources on workouts I can hot-swap into the general base program to help with TT training!)

I know I can use the plan builder, but I’m not at the point yet where I want to plug in dates. I’m mostly thinking about general structure and compliance through the next 5 months or so (until feb next year).

Thanks!

I would say it is perfectly OK to carry on with General Base II

If an opportunity presents itself for you to add some additional rides, add a tempo ride like Baxter

When you come to move to Build, you will probably go with Sustained Power Build. I say Baxter is still a good addition if you have an opportunity to add extra rides at that stage too

Practice riding in aero positions

Thank you! I’m familiar with the Baxter group of workouts, too. Kudos.

I agree with @ivegotabike. Base 1 and 2 are great plans to follow.

Since you’re many months out from any events, I’d follow the plan as is and work on form/riding in an efficient position.

When you get to your Build phase, make sure you’re following Sustained Power Build as @ivegotabike mentioned as that’s going to work well for TT efforts. :racing_car:
