Hi is there a way to cancel a rest week and change the frequency of these?
I had a rest week then was ill so had pretty much 2 weeks off the bike now back on it and after next week I’m scheduled another. I won’t take this, I know I could just pick workouts to do but wondered if you could select anything to automatically fill this week or if I copied the workouts due for the following week would the system adapt and then change my workouts due?
Also can you change the frequency of the rest weeks as I only do 3 workouts a week every 4th week seems overkill for me.
Hey!
This can happen because we don’t want to assume that your time off the bike was true rest. I think a recovery week after being sick is actually the best way to return to training so that we reduce the risk of returning to intensity too quickly and going back to square one.
For this upcoming rest week, I suggest using TrainNow [click] . TrainNow uses our Adaptive Training system to suggest workouts based on your recent training history, so the workouts will be suited to your current fitness.
This frequency of recovery weeks is intentional as this is what we have found to be most effective at making atheltes faster. If you feel capable of handling a greater training stimulus, you can adjust the Training Approach to Demanding or Aggressive. Your training approach influences the number of hard workouts and the overall load. However, we only reccomend you do this if you are in a position where you can prioritise excellent recovery (sleep, nutrition etc).
Let us know if you have any other questions!
I just looked at changing my plan from balanced to demanding and all this done was add in an extra endurance workout. Which I do when I have time anyway. So that doesn’t seem to change the planned rest weeks, could it not be suggested to set your own guide 3-4-5 weeks per rest interval?
Hey @Daninplymouth
The planned rest weeks are set As of right now, there isn’t an option to set your own guide 3-4-5 weeks per rest interval. This is, however, a great feature request I’ll send to the team!
