Cross training suggestions. while waiting for trainer replacement

Unfortunately, I have to send in the resistance unit of my trainer as it is defective, and because of the holidays coming up, it will be about 3 weeks until I receive my replacement. I am just about to start the build phase of my training plan, and unfortunately dont have the money to purchase a temporary replacement trainer for the meantime.

What would you suggest as a good way to continue building fitness during this time and minimizing my fitness losses? Im not much of a runner but I am wondering if some light running and weight training would be good?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

This, unless it’s blizzard conditions, in which case cross country skiing or touring.

Contact a local shop / training center and see if they have a loaner / rental you can borrow for a few weeks.

Alternatively, just use a cheap mag / fluid trainer….nit ideal after getting used to direct drive trainers, but we used them for decades and survived.

You could join a gym for a month and go sit on their bike. Just ride by RPE.

If you are in a bike club, pretty much half the members will have an old mag trainer gather dust in their garage.
