@trebor No brakes? Be careful with that one.
r/bicyclingcirclejerk is leaking
No, but the show the massive decline of the stock and the road to their impending doom.
Good grief, why the hate? There are so many that are hating on Peloton, wow. They did enable a lot of people to get into riding and improve their health, they just drank too much of their own kool-aid.
They improved on the ‘spin class’ idea, and brought it into peoples homes. I have one, and rode the heck out of it. I for one hope they can pull out of this. They did somethings wrong, but the idea and involvement was the right way to go.
And answering my question, no, they apparently do not show in Strava with an elevation gain. Someone needs to get an algorithm that can calculate it because I’m sure some riders would be shocked with their climbing ability…
Perhaps the biggest joke of this is that the CEO thought he could ride Peloton to massive riches.
I was trying to be funny. The CEO committed so many unforced errors. He was riding the wave of COVID like it was never going to end.
I have no hate for the company.
That’s the reason I’ve been hesitant to get my wife into biking heavily. I remember my dad used to skeet shoot when I was young. She kept at him to take her with him and show her how to shoot. He finally gave in. Within two or three times, she was totally out shooting him. I mean it was bad enough his friends were rubbing it in fierce. He stopped taking her, and ‘everyone’ wondered where she was!
She always got a huge laugh out of that… But my wife also has some health issues, and can’t ride for very long so I guess I’m safe. But I do wish we could ride together. Even if she dropped me. Repeatedly.
Where’d the jokes go?
As a member of the “dads at dawn” club… This apparently wasn’t as funny as I thought it was.
I’m not brave enough to show my other half that one. At best, I’ll get a blank look of “I don’t get it!”
