Especially when the tradeoff for more sun is moving to places where it’s ‘moist’ throughout the year. They are nice places to visit, but…
I went on a 10 day getaway, and got back just in time for the weeks of below zero temps as winter finally got outta town. That was brutal. I probably looked pretty odd running around with a tan in ice sleet and snow.
Easy to modify e-bike with a throttle and max speed of 40km/h or more… (The local law says no throttle and speed limit of 25km/h).
This all would not really be a problem, but this has gotten very popular for young kids. Now our already crowded bike lanes (we have more bikes then people in the Netherlands :D) have little kids on electric mopeds wreaking havoc…
And how the studded Dillingers cost more than the tires on my SUV!
When I said that at the tire store (car tires) they were shocked. You paid HOW MUCH? Really? And you bought them? How many? Two! Bikes have two wheels…
I love the look of the special edition Specialized ‘Hell Of The North’ tires from years ago. Could I really tell the difference between them and a standard Specialized tire? (Well, one set of standard tires lost their tread, so sure, likely)
But studded v non-studded tires? After falling nearly on my face on ice, oh hell yes I could tell the difference. Oy, that was embarrassing and psychologically painful.
I just wish I had a video of that crash, and the one were I endoed a test ride full carbon fat bike. I was so horrified, I checked the bike over completely, but would have liked to have a third person video of that incident. I’m sure it would have been epic!
You must not live in Maine or you would have said “4pm”. I like the DST explanation though.
I’m more of a roadie, which means whenever I’m on a mtb I’m doing lots of “spring forward” time travel. In fact, that’s where the expression “end-o” comes from. As in that’s the end of standard time for the year**.
That and the whole jittery camera ‘technique’ for filming movies. Some are so bad it’s like a Parkinson’s victim is filming, and some movies made me motion sick. I kinda get the whole ‘observer POV’ idea, but it’s so distracting. Did it start getting so ridiculous after Blair Witch?
