For me E-(mountain)bikes are like “pay to win”.
Nothing wrong with buying something to compensate for your laziness. ( 1 )
But then complaining about how slow the normal cyclist you encounter are, no…
( I’ve seen these people on strava. )
( 1 ) I’m not saying people on E-Bikes are by definition “lazy”, i’m talking about people who want to be fast but are to lazy to train for it, but then buy an e-bike and start talking down on the people who are actually training for being slow.
I am happy for people who choose to focus their energy on something other than cycling to be able to have fun riding their bikes up hills, or arrive at work without being a sweaty mess. I choose to make riding up hills hard, but that’s not The Right Choice. People who make different choices are not lazy on spec (and clearly neither are people whose physical limitations make the choice for them).
Yeah these people I do not understand.
I fully agree.
It was all in the context of people who used to be the “slow ones”, buy an e-bike and then start talking down on the other “slow ones” who are actually working on getting faster for being so slow.
Well… A friend gave his wife an e mountain bike so she could keep up with him on rides.
She is not lazy, he is much stronger than her. So…thats a valid use case IMO.
Edited the post for a bit more clarity.
Clearly context is not everyone’s strongest point.
Read whole story’s, not single lines.
Where’s the fire?
This makes me feel either really good about myself, because it always goes as smoothly as the first clip, or I’m a little sad because appearsntly I ride way too much
This is so true it’s actually scary …
Well that’s the new business plan for anyone unlucky enough to have been made redundant
Still less, compared to if you were to return with a girl, named Chlamydia.
