I’ll be in Des Moines (Clive) August 4-5-6. Never been. Would like to get some riding in. My Google-foo can’t find any events in the area that weekend. Do any shops or groups do organized rides? I’ve found the High Trestle bike path that looks interesting for a few laps. Any local knowledge be helpful. Thanks.

Looks like there is a good netowrk of gravel to the NW and south of town….dunno how that will relate to where you are staying.

Tons of gravel in the DSM area. I don’t see any events scheduled for that weekend though. You could find a few old race routes on Garmin or Ride with GPS. A few worth a look:
CIRREM- 60ish mile race held every year.
Hogback GRVL - Half hog or full hog depending on distance
24 Hours of Cumming
Gents Race
While I am guessing it’s named after the town, this name is hilarious to the part of me which still has an immature sense of humor
