Does FTP Detection work with TrainNow or Self Selected workouts?

I’m curious to know what my FTP since taking two weeks off post season and plan ending. I have been back two week with reduced intensity and volume, mixing up workouts using either Train Now or choosing from the workouts list. My progression levels have reset. And I’ve left my FTP the same but can only assume it’s dropped a bit.

Does anyone know if TR will give me an FTP prediction so I can adjust workouts accordingly? It’s been well over a month since I’ve had the last update. Otherwise I may just have to do a ramp test.

NB: I’ve been doing most workouts on the trainer but the occasional one outdoors.

Thanks in advance.

Per the FAQ in the support article:

What AI FTP Detection Needs to Detect Your FTP

In order for AI FTP Detection to have enough data to accurately detect your FTP, you need a minimum of 10 completed TrainerRoad indoor workouts. If you haven’t completed enough workouts, don’t stress—you’ll see how many more you need when you click the button to use the feature. Once you’ve completed these 10 workouts, AI FTP Detection will analyze and incorporate all indoor and outdoor rides with power data, whether or not they’re TrainerRoad workouts.

For the best results, AI FTP Detection also requires an accurate weight and date of birth in your Account Settings. Please verify yours are entered correctly!

As long as you have at least 10 of the required TR indoor workouts, you should be good.

Yep, exactly what @mcneese.chad said! You have more than enough TR rides to use AI FT detection!

Hope you are feeling refreshed after your off-season and feeling ready to attack this next year! :muscle: :fire:

Thanks Sarah. I’m thinking of trying the Polarized Plan for the next six weeks as there’s only one intensity session a week. Might be a good way to work on endurance without losing too much of the top end. I’ll also be adding a couple of social rides so that’ll keep the volume up.
