Here are some basic considerations related to different power measurements between devices:

  • Location:
    • Where you measure power can impact the actual power data captured, which is important when comparing data from devices at different points in the power production lineup.
  • Bike:
    • Pedals, Crank Arm, Crank Spider, Crank Spindle, Wheel Hub
  • Smart Trainer:
    • Internal for Wheel-Off as driven from it’s hub and drive system
    • External for Wheel-On since it comes after the rubber tire connection
  • Method / Type:
    • Single-sided like Pedal, Crank Arm, Crank Spindle power meters (one leg measured then doubled)
    • Dual-sided like Pedals, Crank Arms, power meters (both legs measured independently)
    • Total like Crank Spider, Smart trainer, Wheel Hub (single measured as value via both legs)

Awsome! I only used the one from DCR in the past. It was 5 bucks IIRC

Yup, DCR is still $5 for a “Day Pass” up to 3 sets, with annual and unlimited sets at $29/yr.
