Feature Request: AI-Powered Weekly Planning Based on Past Rides

It would be great if TrainerRoad’s AI could analyze my past outdoor group rides, which always fall on Saturdays and tend to be high TSS. Instead of me manually adjusting my plan each week, the system could recognize this pattern and automatically structure the rest of my training around it.

This way, the plan would dynamically account for the stress load from those rides—adjusting intensity on other days to optimize recovery and progression. It would make planning more seamless and personalized.

Would love to hear if others have a similar need!

Hey @Jorge_Juarez - welcome to the TrainerRoad forum!

While TrainerRoad doesn’t yet (tehe ) analyze how hard a group ride was after the fact, you can plan ahead to make sure your training plan accounts for its demands.

If your group ride is a regular part of your week and tends to be of similar intensity, I suggest adding the Group ride to your Calendar in advance—TrainerRoad will adjust accordingly.

Here’s how:

  1. Swap a scheduled workout for your group ride – If you want to replace a structured workout, go to your TrainerRoad Calendar and switch that day to a Group Ride. This tells TrainerRoad what effort to expect, and it will adjust your training accordingly to keep you progressing.

  2. Adding the group ride in addition to your plan – If you’re adding the group ride on top of your structured workouts, you can also schedule this Group Ride ahead of time. TrainerRoad will factor in the anticipated difficulty and adjust your plan as needed.

TrainerRoad will ensure your future workouts adapt as needed, preventing unproductive fatigue while keeping you on track. We’re also working toward a more seamless solution where TrainerRoad uses AI to dynamically analyze unstructured workouts/ group rides and adjusts your plan in real time—stay tuned! :rocket:

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.
