Garmin 935 (probably done to death but....) upgrade 265

Right I understand the has probably been done. but I can’t find it even Google hasn’t been satisfactory.

I have a Forerunner 935, have had for four years. I am considering changing up. is a 265 an upgrade? the comparisons I’ve seen so far don’t go as old as the 935… telling in itself. I’m looking for opinions as I’ve looked at the specs. The basic data doesn’t change, it’s the other new features I’m curious about.

Thanks

With a little url magic here is the comparison table of them. Added 965 just in case. Garmin | Product Compare

With black friday coming up watch out for the 955 being around $320 at Amazon which is a MIP display and most of the features of the 965.

I’m happy with my 265, but I don’t do triathlon. DCRainmaker has a product comparison tool with the 935 in it. I set it for watch-tri-highend and then clicked off a few watches: Product Comparison Calculator | DC Rainmaker

A thread that I’m oddly qualified to answer.

I upgraded from the FR945 to the FR265 a year ago. I’d say it’s a huge leap forward. The AMOLED screen looks so much nicer than MIP…at the expense of some battery life. I still find it to be far less intrusive as a Samsung or Apple watch in terms of charging. I usually throw it on the charger every 2-3 days while I’m in the shower/getting ready to go to bed and it’ll be topped up plenty to last another 2-3 days.

I’m primarily a mountain biker but walk a ton. Treadmill accuracy is very good, the touch screen is a huge upgrade over just buttons (and being able to turn it off during activities), contactless payment has bailed me out more than once, Spotify on my watch is nice to have, the Morning Report is super handy every morning, I like sleep tracking and HRV. So yep, I have basically no complaints with it…I’d upgrade again in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the responses. I didn’t realise that DCR rainmaker comparison was customisable! I have done comparisons via Garmin‘s website, but it isn’t as user friendly.

Thanks for the tip on the 955, but it’s definitely the OLED That’s going to convince me to change.
I’m just unsure about whether the training readiness, morning report are worth it. My wife has the 945 and that has the running pace strategy. All these, will we use for a week then go back to training peaks?
