Got a new bike that I built up with a 4iiii PM and noticed that when sync’d with my Garmin to read power, I’m led to believe that it is also gathering speed data from it as well? In the sensors menu I do have a speed sensor to pause when at a stop and the 4iiii as a power sensor. I’ve noticed when coasting, the Garmin will auto pause when not pedaling and restart when pedaling.
I’ve done a full remove of the PM and resync with my Garmin with the same result so I’m assuming its something with the connection of the 4iiii PM. Haven’t had this issue previously as the only difference in equipment was using a Stages PM with speed sensor and works like it should. If it is something with the connection, is there anywhere to remove 4iiii to be reading speed? Is there another fix to try? Or is this just what it is with this setup?
That’s what I thought too but by process of elimination I think the 4iiii PM may be sending data to the Garmin. You are able to get a “speed reading” on the 4iiii App if you were to do riding/workouts through that so it must be the case whether its a calculation or not. All of this is based on outside riding.
I first thought it was the new speed sensor but when I replaced it with an existing one form an older wheelset, I was getting the same autopause on occasion when I stopped pedaling and started again
You can turn auto-pause off, but you are now mentioning a ‘new speed sensor’, and swapping it with an ‘existing speed sensor’, and yet not sure where your ‘speed’ is coming from. Did you mean ‘cadence sensor’?
