Gravel wheel size

I just bought a used gravel bike which has 17mm internal width tubeless ready wheels.

I’m trying to find out what the max size tubeless tires these rims can accomodate so that I can make a good choice I decide to do some really rough riding. I’ve read so many conflicting views and information as to what they can run. I have tons of frame clearance so I think I could go up to 45-50mm.

Last year I successfully ran 45mm Riddlers on a 17mm internal rim for a gravel race with deep fresh gravel. It was less than ideal but it worked. I felt like I was pushing it. Now I have much wider wheels and its definitely better. I think you can run in the 38mm range without any real problems with wheels that narrow.
