Help: How do you know when you are overdoing carbs?

LDL goes over 100 with just a clean diet and excercise. That’s why I started the 2.5mg Crestor + Ezetimibe.

Are you aware that LDL isn’t usually measured, it’s estimated by the Friedewald formula which uses measured tryglycerides, HDL and total cholesterol to guess LDL. If your tryglycerides are low (which is “good”), the formula will tend to overestimate LDL. Conversely if your tryglycerides are high the formula will tend to underestimate LDL

Somewhat of a moot point given that the marker I want to optimize and really care about is ApoB.

Cherrypicking studies and just looking for punchlines so take it dor what it is:

“Athletes showed a consistent trend towards higher HbA1c values, reaching statistical significance between sedentary individuals and professional cyclists”

It’s surprising how much I was overdoing carbs. Since I found out about this issue, I’ve gone from an average of 4.3g/kg of daily CHO, to around 3.25g/kg, and training load higher than average and performance and recovery are as good as expected.

There’s still room for optimization. I think I can get the average under 3g, once performance and recovery start failing, perhaps I can conclude I’ve gone too far….so may moving pieces.

To close this thread:

40 days of:

  • Reduced carb intake, averaging ~200g/Day
  • Increase training load
  • Elimination of rice, pasta, bread
  • Periodization of carbs

Has turned around my numbers completely, and it’s all good now
