I’m new to TrainerRoad. I want to train during the offseason for MTB. When building a plan it asks me to select from several different goals. What would you say the differences are between:
I think Increase FTP would focus more on Threshold Workouts, Improve climbing would focus more on threshold and sweet spot, and the endurance would focus more on tempo and sweet spot. I would try each option and build it out to the “Review” stage in the plan builder and just take a look and see what each looks like! You can see a summary of the plan at the end of plan builder before you even add the plan to your calendar. Overall, Trainerroad plan’s are all great, but as an MTB rider myself, I find most often our weakness is true endurance, as having a good endurance power will help so much even in XC racing. In Mountain Biking, we do a lot of pedal, coast, pedal, coast, so building up endurance is often hard for us, but will be hugely beneficial. Good luck!
I sent you a DM that should help with this!
Happy training!
