The 4:1 ratio is for fastest carb absorbtion within first 30mins after your workout. You can then add some more protein later.
I immediately take skratch recovery when finished with hard ride. It is 4:1 “carb” drink. About 45mins later I’ll have a serving sfh pure protein. Off top of my head I think sfh is around 25g protein.
So think of it as 2 different goals, refill your carb tank immediately, then later protein. And this helps you to recover quicker if your doing another hard ride in a day or 2. If you won’t ride hard for more than a couple days from now, just eating a good meal will suffice.
