HRM not connecting

This morning TR didn’t pick up my Wahoo Ticker.
I followed my usual routine where I fix the HRM in place in the warmth of the house before going into the garage/freezer. Usually by the time I load the TR activity my HR is being displayed. Not today.

The battery is not that old and I did get the blue flash when I put it on.

During warm up I separated the HRM studs and reconnected. Again blue and red LEDs but no connection. The LEDs disappeared quickly. I tried this several times to no avail. The LEDs stayed off until I completed the activity and switched off my phone then the LEDs started flashing again.

It looked like the HRM connected but my HR was not displayed.

Any ideas before I change the, what is not old battery.

Most likely it is connected to something else, like another app or device. You’ll probably tell me it’s not and you’re sure of it. However, 99% of the time this is the case.

I’d bet @MI-XC is correct. To solve it, turn off every Bluetooth device you’ve ever connected to the HRM. Then, only turn on the one that is running TR. That should do it.

The only thing it could have connected to was the adjacent Concept2 rower which has been unused for ages until I updated the firmware last week. The rower screen was off but I guess it could have connected to the HRM.

Good point guys, I’ll check tomorrow.

Cheers.

Could it have connected to your phone, iPad, laptop, watch, head unit, etc.? Maybe you were connected to two apps simultaneously (like TR and Zwift)?

No need to reply, just prompting you to think about any possible connections. Good luck!

I think my first TickR done that when it was new’ish, the studs cups had a tiny bit of rust and needed cleaning with a baby wipe. Ive switched to a Polar H10 and touch wood it seems a bit more reliable.

Dropping in to second what others have already said – check connections to other apps or even your phone/computer/tablet itself. Sounds like your HRM is likely connecting to something else.

Feel free to reach out to support@trainerroad.com for more troubleshooting.

I seem to have fixed this by connecting my wife’s HRM to the rower even though the rower seems to disconnect when the screen switches off. However I am bag in the saddle.

Thanks guys.
