I used TrainerRoad for six months and 2023 to great effect (~6-10 hours of riding per week), then in early 2024 I foolishly thought I’d don’t need structured training and thus my hours on the bike plummeted (~1 hour a week)
Two weeks ago I restarted on Trainer Road (~10 hours per week) but three out of the last eight days have been red and most of the others are yellow. I can definitely feel I am carrying a lot of fatigue, but I just keep getting red days.
Am I doing something wrong?
It seems like you answered your own question.
So you just went from 1 hour per week to 10 hours per week?

I kinda feel like an idiot saying it but yes

Are you accepting the reductions that come with the red days?

You’ll probably have more success starting at like 4-5 hours per week and then adding an hour per week. And maybe just follow the red light and take a day off. At this point with a lot of fatigue in your legs, you probably should take off 2 or 3 days, recover and then start again at a sustainable pace.
