Instructions during training

Hi, I’d like to slightly change the logic for displaying instructions in the app. Currently, they look like this:

  1. Blank screen (blocks of intervals)
  2. Instruction appears for 1-2 seconds
  3. Blank screen
  4. The next instruction appears for 1-2 seconds
  5. And so on

I would prefer the following:

  1. Instruction appears
  2. Smooth transition (fade) into the next instruction

The idea is to keep the instruction on the screen for as long as possible. Currently, I sometimes get distracted, miss instructions, and this lowers my motivation to continue training.

For reference, the instructions in the Wellhero app during an HRV measurement are very convenient. It would be great if you could implement a similar approach.

Yes. I sometimes miss an instruction concentrating on other things and made a similar suggestion in the past, where the current instruction would pop up as it does, stay at that size for the current duration, then shrink down (1/2 that size?) and possibly move down on the screen and stay there until the next instruction pops up.

I happen to like the instructions. They usually explain the intent behind the workout, and in some cases they provide workout guidance, e.g. cadence exercises. Often it’s just pointers for good riding technique, all of which I’m very well acquainted with, but they still help make the workout a little less boring/tedious. Of course if you don’t want to see them, you can turn them off in the workout settings. Years ago, IIRC, just about all TR workouts had instruction. Now it seem they are in minority.

Audio cues would be great, especially during intervals in aero position.

I agree 100%. It would be nice if the instructions remain somewhere on screen when doing a scheduled ride throughout each segment. I would think many of us watch Youtube or a races while riding indoors and at times miss or catch just part of the instructions for some segments. Just the instruction for the each segment being done. Not the instruction for the whole ride. I think this would be a great addition to an already amazing program. Thanks in advance.

Just another point: The instructions/explanations are often long sentences with a number of phrases with each phrase being shown individually. Personally, I’d rather have the whole sentence displayed, and for longer, maybe as long as it currently takes to get through the separate phrases. The previous ideas of showing the first phrase, and shrinking it down below the next one being displayed would also be an improvement.
