I’m (sort of) in specialty phase, although it’s a bit randomised, but is there still a value to my weekend 2 or 3 hour long rides at this time of year?
I don’t think i could face all my rides being VO2 max and hard work…

There have been a few posts about this😁. The answer is yes. Like you say, all rides can not be hard.
Even beyond the scope of polarized training, I would recommend a long ride every other week to sustain long aerobic base and feel for time in the saddle.
Most plans still have a long-ish sweet spot interval ride on the weekends. Those are candidates to be replaced by a long easy ride.
