Let's see your paincave!

It’s a version like this one. I have one and it works quite well.

I also have this one, and use it more than the other one, since it works better when mounted on my aerobars.

It’s the first one Chad links. It does it’s job. The mouse pad part isn’t the greatest hence why I have a normal wireless mouse, but does work in a pinch. I had a normal sized keyboard but found the smaller one was actually easier to type on while on trainer. It feels like texting on a phone so it’s pretty easy. Id but it again.

Tragedy… if only the older cleva/lasko fans would be retrofitted with the 3 speed remote that straps onto handlebars

One other wireless keyboard to note. I use this one (link below). It’s o.k., not great. Does the job. Takes abuse fine. I use mine connected to a Mac Mini. It’s cheap. It’s small. I bought it primarily for the aero shape, weight savings, and if needed, fits into a jersey pocket or bottle cage!

Yeah, I love those fans and wish I could get them in the US.

Coming soon…. New cave build has started!!

That suffering was probably valuable. I know mine has been.

Seems like the coolest, most creative, and most useful things are often borne out of folks who know what it’s like living low-budget low-tech for years.

I’d say that’s true for me. I like to tinker and solve problems anyway. With each workout and pending year, stuff showed up to me as issues and I set about solving them one by one.

  • Position & comfort: Rocker Plates and elevated front axle
  • Boredom: Various workout player solutions from DVD player, to mobile device, to PC with small single screen to the massive setup now.
  • Cooling: No fan, to tiny Vornado, then large circular Lasko, impressive single Lasko blower to 3X with ducted cold air.
  • Misc: Places for stuff like food, sweat bands, garbage, Kleenex, remote PC keyboard.

Each was a small addition and improvement over the initial setup. To compare the initial to now is massive difference, but it’s been a couple of changes each year to make the result now

Incredibly jealous! (Coming from someone living in an apartment in Stockholm where prices are touching 1,400usd per sq. foot)

Don’t let us down with the tech stuff, expecting some nice TVs and sound system

But on the positive side, you are living in Stockholm which is a wonderful place indeed!

I live right outside Stockholm, currently my trainer lives on my balcony with glass doors. Used to have it in my “office-room”. It was a little cold this morning but otherwise works great.

My wife purchased a pair Stasdock bike mounts for me. Really turned out nice in my pain cave

It’s very early days yet but tbh we only moved into the house on 17th so I think I’ve worked pretty fast to get my old set up rebuilt.

It’s a start.

I’ve been dialing in my trainer setup over time, but I believe I’ve finally gotten it the way I want it! Still making minor tweaks, but overall happy after the first ride. Good cooling, entertainment and saddle sore prevention (hopefully).

Main details:
CAAD10 105 (2015)
Favero Assioma dual sided w/ Xpedo Baldwin pedal bodies
Kurt Kibetic Road Machine
Rockr Pod Lite
Siducal bi-level standing desk (cheapish)
Old Laptop = TrainerRoad
Asus monitor = Entertainment
2 x Lasko fans
Cordinate plug switches for on/off fan control while riding

Only thing left is to switch to a smart trainer… eventually.
