I have recently gotten into the Empirical Cycling Podcast, and whilst it is great, and I love the detail into the biological processes, I am looking for something more concise and clear. For example, “this type of training is optimal for X, because it improves the biological efficiency of Y”, rather than including all of the fluff.
Charlie, Carbs, and Cycling on youtube is pretty good for pro related training content. Highly underrated IMO, I think it would be great if he did longer format stuff and had more guests on.
Emperical Cycling
Nero Show - Good cycling content, maybe not totally all about training but some good info.
FastTalk is the best in my opinion. Also when The Drive Podcast with Dr. Peter Atilla has Indigo San Milan or Aleksander Bu on for example is excellent for deep dive science of training. I also highly recommend a YouTube channel; Everything is Photogenic produced by Sarah Larocque. She has many videos pertaining to endurance training that are so informative for beginners to Cat 1s.
I also forgot to mention these two, but they are WAY in the weeds. If you are a super nerd or just want to learn a lot of the science and cutting edge technology, I highly recommend them.
Oxidative Potential - Phil and Matt stopped producing content in 2022, but there’s a lot of really great content.
Critical Oxygen - Phil, one of the guys from the Oxidative Potential podcast, hosts this one. There’s a year or so of content and Phil is still releasing podcasts currently.
Nothing beats the first few years of Ask a Cycling Coach Podcast. Fun, informative, not too serious, felt like hanging out with some nerds, answered repetitive questions pretty well, the banter and interplay between the hosts was top notch. If you haven’t listened to it, I’d go back and do those. Good for trainer sessions.
