I’ve recently switched to a new bike equipped with SRAM Rival. I realised whilst cleaning the bike the other day that I could see straight through the left crank and bottom bracket. I’m assuming that a cap or plug must of been dislodged during my last ride. I’ve only ridden shimano previously and I am fairly unfamiliar with sram. I’ve tried looking online to see if a replacement part exists or if it is actually just part of the design I somehow never realised (haven’t had the bike long and I’m not the most observant person at the best of times lol). All I can find online is the crank arm cover for the drive side crank and chainring. Any suggestions?
If it looks like this
That is normal no cap.
I think late bolts on from drive side and just has the 8/10mm whatever allen thing on drive side with bit hole on non drive.
On the earlier ones they bolt on from non drive side so the big hole in on the drive side and the 8/10mm whatever part is on the none drive side.
(early/late may be me just confusing different BB standards but the point stands, no cap)
Great storage area for eg a tubeless repair kit btw!
You can buy aftermarket caps.
