Not enough participants to justify further groupings in most events.
65+ is probably less than 3% of all users on TR. Many are likely inactive.
70+ is probably less than 1%.
I have been away from TR for a few years but will probably come back in Jan. At 57 I’m still chugging along but am not sure the number of intense workouts I used to do on TR is in the cards.
My plan is to do the masters plan (maybe with more Vo2) and strength work, which I have already started. Um, right now I’m in love with the kettle bell. Anyway, like many of you, I hope the strength work will pay off but also make me sexy
I checked for the HV Master plan, but only gave me 350TSS a week? And I am already at a higher level than that? Does it not take your current level in to account?
Also the workouts planned are much lower in PL then currently doing. So maybe I just pick alternate workouts and swap the planned ones?
Another option is that I keep doing what I am doing now. That is Z2 with 2 ‘intenser’ rides per week and increase my PL’s for those?
The training plans do not look back on your history to determine how much stress you can handle, so the weekly TSS is a bit of an arbitrary starting point. As far as the PL’s, those should adjust up quickly if you mark the workout as easy after completion. Or you can just eyeball an appropriate alternative workout to start at a more reasonable level. My approach is to use the intervals provided in the recommended workouts, but load volume on top of that to reach reasonable TSS targets for each week.
Using Alternates would be a great starting point if you’re already doing workouts at higher levels – especially for your structured interval sessions if you already know what you’re capable of.
After just a few workouts, AT should be back on track with your plan.

Ideally you can use your workouts from the plan, and then view the available Workout Alternates. That way, you’ll still be getting the correct structure your plan calls for, but at a higher Workout Level that should be more in line for the difficulty you’re looking for.
