No power data on Garmin 1040 edge

Hi, I don’t usually do forums, socials etc however I’m at a loss with my current problem: In the last few days although connected my stages LH arm power meter data is not showing on my Garmin edge 1040. I’ve changed the battery, made sure it’s clean inside & the seal is good. I’ve removed it & reinstalled it from the head unit but still no joy!

Is anyone else experiencing this or a similar issue? Any help would be great

Is it showing in Trainer Road/Zwift/My Woosh?

You don’t need to ride, just wake it up and try to connect. This will try to narrow down if it’s a crank thing or a head unit thing.

Hmmmm I haven’t been on the turbo since it started to be honest, I’ll try tomorrow.

In yesterdays ride it’s showing as connected but would only show data sporadically and it would return to zero within seconds

You can use the Stages App as well on your phone to check connectivity.

Yeah it’s showing on the app too but no data… it’s really frustrating!!

Could it be due to latest Garmin update?

I have 2 and they are fine with my 1040 which is up to date.

Does it report power to the app or just connect?

It’s showing as connected to both the app & my head unit but no numbers for power or cadence… :man_shrugging:t2:

Sorry to hear about the trouble – sounds like it might be worth reaching out to Garmin Support if you haven’t already.

You could also try reaching out to Stages, but I’ve unfortunately heard they can be tough to get through to these last couple of years.

That sounds more like a crank issue than the head unit so they’re totally separate.

Think Stages might be your best bet, however, as noted support isn’t as good as it was.
