Non-Zwift virtual platforms plus TrainerRoad

For years I have let TR control my trainer through Bluetooth with an iPad while the trainer outputs Ant+ to Zwift. But I want to try another virtual platform. Is anyone out there seamlessly running TR with a non-Zwift virtual cycling platform? Would love to know my other options.

You can do the same thing with TrainingPeaks Virtual. A bit of googling and you might even find a way to get your TR workout available directly to execute in the game.

I’ve tried both RGT (rip) and MyWhoop… but i always come crawling back to zwift.

Roovy looks interesting too

IndieVelo was just bought by TrainingPeaks and became TrainingPeaks Virtual (TPV). I didn’t know it existed, tried it for the first time a couple of days ago, and loved it. Beautiful graphics, nicely executed. Give it a try. Already convinced me to cancel my Zwift subscription and use TPV.

I’ve done what you’re saying with using two devices, and it works well. But having the workout play natively on Zwift (and now TPV) adds some good visual elements and I like it better, so I’ve switched to doing that.

You can try Fullgaz - amazing real world routes shot from pov of a rider. And the bear features is that you can match the speed of the rider and video isn’t lagging. Rouvy is another real world video platform, but if you can’t ride with the speed of ride your videos will be lagging which is driving me crazy!

Thanks for all of the replies. I’m definitely not giving up TR. Looking for something that can passively read the Ant+ from my trainer and ignore the Bluetooth signal. Sounds like Zwift might still be the only platform that makes this easy.

I think you can do that with most if not all programs to be honest.

If you open TR first and let that grab the Bluetooth then just link to the other program via ant+
