This is really well done! And a great reminder how much of a tool Tinkov is.

Folks have been really swift to discount Sagan when heā€™s not performing at THE highest levels at every race. He is still so electrifying and entertaining - truly one of the best.

Saganā€™s bunny hop at full speed across the road barrier is my favorite ever moment in a road race. You have to live out of the box to get such an idea spontaneously in the middle of a race.

  • EX: One that can improvise in the same way you ride a trail ā€˜blindā€™ (first run on a new one) or deal with live changes to an otherwise known trail.

True, his offroad skills helped him pull that off. However, just getting this idea and executing it is still unique. There have been a few other exceptional riders with an offroad pedigree (Tom Pidcock, MvdP and WvA immediately come to mind), but to my knowledge none of them have pulled off something similar.
