After hearing about Nate’s purchase and doing some research, I think I am interested in buying one of the xt/xtr builds with fox live valve (which I’m thinking of upgrade to 12 speed xt when available).
I know there’s going to be a premium for the live valve technology as it’s so new, but I’m willing to pay for it if it’s worth it.
Have any of you fine TrainerRoad users had the opportunity to ride the new pivot yet??
I’m also considering the Scott 900 premium, which I can pick up for about $1000 less than the pivot. But really, I’m open to any suggestions for a new xc rig that I’d use for general trail riding in the lower parts of the PNW and more specifically for longer xc events like the epic rides series, etc. I mean, I’m pretty sure I’ve looked at every single bike in this category, but I can personally procure the best deals on Scott, Felt, and Pivot bikes (at least in regards to %off msrp). I also have a Canyon ultimate for the road, so I’m not opposed to getting the Lux but I kind like the idea of the more relaxed geo of the Scott or Pivot.
Any thoughts? Other bikes to consider?
Any personal experiences with the new pivot/Lux/Spark for a marathon xc bike?

I received my new Mach 4 SL a couple weeks ago. XO1 build.
I am blown away with how stable the platform is. I feel guilted into the locking out the suspension out on pavement or smooth groomed sections, but it feels wholly unnecessary.
It is agile. I had demoed a Blur as well, but really liked this Pivot better. Just more stable and compliant over bumps. Also considered the Trail 429, but it just felt too slow and heavy.
Definitely a fan.

I ride the Spark RC World Cup. Been on that platform for 3 years now. I can’t imagine riding anything else at this point.

I wanted to get the Spark RC 900 World Cup but then a couple of friends bought Orbea Oiz M-LTD which is a hell of a lot more bang for the buck. And by judging from my friends everyone is extremely satisfied with the bike with 0 problems. So I’ve made a custom order through MyO, which by the way is absolutely fantastic, getting my custom Oiz in a couple of weeks. Been riding BMC Fourstroke 01, with upgraded XTR 12-speed drivetrain, and Teamelite for 1,5 and 1 year respectively so I figure it’s time for a change.
BMC Fourstroke 01 with the new geometry is pretty sweet but in your case I’d wait for Trek to release it’s Supercaliber because that’ll be an awesome XCM-weapon for sure. I’ve already got the specs and price for it and it’ll be around the other top bike prices.
