Plan Builder Question - inserting a rest week and updating

If I need to insert a rest week into a plan that Plan Builder has already establishhed. Will it automatically repopulate all the subsequent training weeks or will I need to change all that stuff manually.

Asking because I’m a Masters athlete and do better with extra rest weeks inserted as @Chad McNeese recommends.

Thanks!
David

Unfortunately, we do not have a way to facilitate adding an additional rest week without “breaking” the Plan Builder training plan. What this means is that once you push the week, you will no longer have the ability to edit your training plan.

Additionally, pushing a week of training will push all of your training by a week, which means your peak will no longer line up with your planned event. We are working on simplifying this process in an effort to improve usability, however, we do not have a good workaround for the time being.

For creating master’s plans with additional weeks of rest, your best option will be to manually add and edit each plan according to your timeline.

I’m sorry I don’t have a better solution for you at the moment, but rest assured, this is something we are working hard to improve.

hello Bryce
is the situation still the same?
thanks!!

No changes that have been announced.

FYI, Bryce left TR and the new Community Manager is @IvyAudrain, so you can tag her for future questions like this.

Agreed, both have been a pleasure to work with and are amazing people, like so many in the TR world.

Hey! We are working on a feature for the next version of Plan Builder to schedule time off, and request that PB is modified around it! Hope this helps, if you’re looking for something different or more specific, definitely let me know!

how is this done once the plan is in the calendar?

Did you just amend your post? I could have sworn that you just said it was available now and posted an image of it.

Heck YEAH I did because that feature is still in beta and is subject to change! (lol OPE).
But the idea of the feature is the same: it’ll allow you to schedule time off and request PB to modify around it.

At least that explains why it was “news to me” since I had not seen or heard an announcement of the new function :stuck_out_tongue:

And we never heard of Ivy again…

JK. I got to see the picture before you deleted it and I think it looked great. It looks promising if halfway through your plan you need some time off because of Vacation or COVID… you can push the plan without messing everything up! That would be awesome.

I’m liking the “time off” feature, which I used to block off a week between Christmas and New Years. I didn’t even realize it was in Beta, but did wonder as I couldn’t recall it being there earlier this fall when I was mucking about with Plan Builder. I hope it sticks around and eventually becomes a feature that can be dropped in mid-plan when something comes up that derails training. Great work by the developer elves out there in Reno!

Or injury…

@IvyAudrain I hope that I am not asking a quesiton already explained, but for now, I can´t find any newer info about this function - I needed to take a week off and as I didn´t want to skip the workouts, I´ve pushed the week, so ever since, I´am “stucked” and my plan is no longer in PB mode :frowning: :worried:
So is there any fresher info? Is this going to be the case in the desktop version? Android?
Many thanks in advance!

Hey! The feature we’re working on for scheduled time-off isn’t quite released yet, so in the meantime, you’ll have to delete your plan and re-apply once you’re ready to train again, or miss the workouts. Apologies we dont have a better solution yet, the fix is on the way though!
