Restarting workout part way through - PL changes

Hey - long time lurker first time poster! I’ve been using TR since January and have been loving it - I’m on a low volume plan and have been seeing great progression whilst still having the flexibility to fit in a busy work and home life - until today I’ve not failed a recommended workout and it’s really boosted my confidence to get after workouts I wouldn’t have attempted before.

Today I did whiteleaf + 4…… I had to stop the workout after the first proper interval due to an issue with the trainer and laptop. When I started TR again the workout had been discarded and I restarted after the first interval (tight on time and didn’t fancy repeating 15 minutes of warmup and first interval). I completed the workout from that point with 3 or 4 very short back-pedalling breaks in the last 5 intervals. At the end TR gave me the incomplete workout survey and there was no shift in my PLs.

My question is… is this due to the micro breaks I took as the workout really bit, or is it because of the missing chunk at the beginning? if it is due to starting part way in, is their anything I can do to get TR to recognise the workout and give me the credit?

Suspect you’ll all tell me not to worry too much about it, and I see your point, but I get a kick out of the level increase and moving on to tougher workouts! Any advice appreciated

Depends how would you answer the survey, had you completed it as is.

  • if “hard”, then carry on, AT will assign workout with expected PL anyway.
  • but if “easy” or “moderate”, then simply use alternates next time and search for threshold workout with PL +0.5

Hey @Lhb201, this is because of the missing chunk at the beginning

I’ve messaged the ride recovery team to fix that for you so you get the credit you deserve on the PLs! Congrats on crushing the workout!

P.S: In these situations, I recommend you send a message to support@trainerroad.com and let them know what happened so they can fix it for you.
