Return to cycling after surgery

Good morning,

I recently had emergency surgery to remove a gallbladder, after already makin a descion not to cycle agian till the new year.

Have you any recommendations for returning to cycling? Or programs

A bit of background, i normally cycles 2x 20 miles mon-friday for the work commute, and started using training roads as a methord to increase trageted areas, fo increase speed/time to enable me me go do a century cycle in london next yr.

Many thanks

When I had my stomach op (bowel cancer) I was surprised how the 5 weeks off the bike had freshened me up and it never took long to get back into shape. I did drop my FTP by and arbitrary 50w and stuck with that as it felt right. I think I tended to play it a lot on how it felt. It helped psychologically when my Oncologist recommended at 5wks (when I was being cautious) that I should have been back on the bike already and saw what I could get back to post chemo. :four_leaf_clover:
