They are actively shipping units now and we’ve seen some good comments in my FB group from a couple of the new owners.
Do you mind sharing how you like the TrainerTweaks rocker ? That seems to be the cheapest option with fore/aft that doesn’t require DIY. It might even be cheaper than several fore/aft DIY designs.
Well, I have received my shipping notification @mcneese.chad and @AlphaDogCycling…
Sweet!
ETA tomorrow…! Might not get to play until weekend but will try and get some photos up if interested
Yeah, I’d love to see pics and hear any feedback you have. It looks like a decent implementation of the known concept, and I’d like to know if it’s worth pointing other smart bike users to over time.
Thanks in advance
Key questions for me are:
- How easy is it to setup the SB20 on the plates given the weight of the SB20
- How easy is it to center the SB20 on the plates so that the front & rear of the SB20 are in the same place on the plates. This was the problem I had when I tried mounting my SB20 to a rocker plate. That lack of “guide points / lines” meant that I couldn’t ever get the SB20 centered on the rocker, and worse it was slightly askew / angled, which made the movement really poor
For future reference if anyone heads down this road:
-
Start by marking a full length center line on the rocker deck. Can be done with a long level or straight edge and simply follow the center mount holes for things like the rubber vibe mounts. Other designs may require measuring the width to find the center, but it can be done and give you a full size reference for the middle.
-
Measure and mark the center of the lateral foot at the front an rear of the bike.
-
Use the reference on each to align and center as needed. Some bikes may also benefit from a counterweight to ensure even lean force each direction.
I have already prepped my wife that I am going to need here help to lift the bike and get the plates under there. Handily, she just managed to a deadlift 65Kg this week so that’s good
I didn’t think about alignment but can see how that might be a little challenging. I will use some electrical tape or similar to align if I need to. I think some of images had lines on the plates but my “first off the production line unit” images somewhere above doesn’t. Let’s see…
Excited nonetheless but a complete punt and could all end up on eBay/ in the bin!
Tagging @AgingCannon as I know they just bought a retail set so may be interested too.
Update…shipping got delayed for some reason in Germany at the back end of last week but they have now arrived…
First impressions are they feel like a good quality product but time will tell when I put the SB20 on them…on that matter its going to be a few days before I do try them out on account of needing to take a few days off the bike due to an ankle issue
Thank you! Didn’t know this thread existed. They’re still arranging to ship mine, so it’ll be another couple of weeks before I get them. Look forward to seeing your experience and I’ll add mine when I can.
- stoopid bodies… who needs 'em anyway?
Dammit, rest up and feel better soon
If you are a FB user, you can also post over in the RP group there to get more potential takers.
Still not riding but had time to at least get the CURVEPLATES set up…can confirm very sturdy and secure even without the straps attached, and even more so with.
Did have a quick turn of the pedals but couldn’t determine much else other than how secure everything felt.
Will try and do a short video when I eventually get to hop on to try it out properly - endurance, FTP and a sprint or similar.
Looks nice and connected to me. Have a great ride!
I’d love this. I’m in Palo Alto/Stanford.

I have received my Rockr Axis some 7 months after ordering. I was calling every couple of weeks to get updates on ETA. Nice people, but definitely kept stringing me along. That said I’m now using it with a Tacx Smart bike. Pretty happy with it overall considering it is of a few that can handle a smart bike. I was coming off an Inside Ride E-Flex that I liked a bit better. Both are good though, the Axis is super solid and still has similar movement. I find myself regularly adding or lowering air pressure in the inflated balls. For this I bought a pump with a PSI gauge to keep things consistent.
Just to respond to these initial queries - super easy on both fronts. I would say you certainly want 2 people to help with the initial setup but with my wife and I it can’t of taken us more than 10 mins from unboxing to me sitting on the bike.
I have now managed to do 2 endurance rides (2.5hrs and 1hr) and the slight rocking that is now afforded to the SB20 from the CURVEPLATES feels fantastic. I have not tried anything about z2 but for my initial use case of helping with comfort on long endurance rides I am very impressed so far.
Once I have some confidence in my ankle being better I will try some harder efforts and report back.
Awesome! Sounds like a great start.
