Shimano crank with SRAM compatibility

I just built an Emonda SLR disc with SRAM Etap and a Dura Ace 9100 crankset. Everything shifts fine, but in the big ring the crank arm is barely clearing the front derailleur. There’s maybe 2mm clearance. Is this due to an incompatibility between the Shimano crank and the SRAM front derailleur? Will the SRAM Red crankset give me more clearance? I plan to go with a Quarq PM eventually, but that’s probably 6 months out. Thanks!

2 mm is probably enough clearance. I imagine the close clearance is due to the SRAM’s yaw technology. Are you running new or old SRAM Etap? I would imagine possible(?) greater problems with the 12 speed SRAM stuff.
I have a Shimano 105 Crank with a SRAM Rival 22 drivetrain and dont have any problems. If anything the Shimano chainrings are quieter and stiffer than the SRAM stuff.

I don’t think switching to a Red crank is going to do much. I don’t have a Shimano to try but this is my 11 speed eTap with a Red/Quarq crank.

Looks just like the clearance in my setup. Thanks for the responses!

Hi, I intend to this on my Madone SL6 2020. I have a Ultegra mechanical and intend to make it etap by buying etap shifters and derailleurs simply because installation cost of di2 is quite a bit as its very involved. Is this setup working out good for you?
