Spouses who ride

what rocker plate is that under the bike on the left? I know Chad is an expert in those. I’m trying to decide on one to go under the H2 or just upgrade to fancy trainer that moves.

Home made from plans on the internet. I did that a few years ago, so I’m not sure which plans I used.

Two trainers here. Easier than swapping bikes or changing fit. And lets us workout at the same time.

Hers has her old rim-brake cyclocross bike mounted and never removed. I swap between my road bike and hardtail, depending on what’s cleaner or was used outside last.

We have a smart bike we share and a wheel off trainer we can put a bike on for the occasional time we want to ride at the same time.

We’ve had a dual set up in the basement for about the last year. No switching of bikes … I probably wouldn’t ride if I had to do extra get-ready work :sunglasses:

At the other end of the space and bling spectrum, I’ve an old damaged frame setup on the trainer in the corner of the living room, I got my partner some cheap SPD shoes and we swap the seat post/saddle. Takes 30 seconds to swap users.

We didn’t mess around with trying to share a trainer. In fact, I bought one first, he scoffed (“what a waste of money, just ride outside or on the spin bikes at the gym”) and then got one for himself a couple weeks later after I kicked him off my trainer for the 5th or 6th time. We now have a dual setup in a basement storage room that we converted to a workout space: two trainers (kickrs), two older road bikes perma-parked on them, four lasko-type fans (two per bike), and two knock-off wahoo desks. I have a giant tv on mine for Zwift rides (apple tv) and movies, and I have a phone mount on the bike to run Trainerroad. Hubby uses his laptop on his desk for TR and Zwift, watching Youtube, etc. We sometimes ride at the same time, both use noise canceling earbuds to listen to music or whatever and it works out just fine. Having two setups felt pretty bougie at first but we got over it fast.

The only thing missing is a dual subscription on Trainerroad, like Rouvy does.

Using the trainer is kind of a last resort situation for my GF and I. But we have two wheel on trainers, hers is a budget one she found used and I have a dumb trainer (which I prefer). They are pushed as close together as possible since space is at a premium, and we use Zwift on our phones. IF we watch anything, we is a laptop.

You could save space by putting the tandem on the trainer.
