Strada Rossa (2024)

Is anyone going to be doing the Strada Rossa in March? My time has been taken up with BWR SD the last couple years and decided to throw something else in the mix for 2024. I’ve never done it before and was curious what people’s experiences have been.

Thanks for any input!

It’s one of my favorite events. I’ve done it a few times, including one year in the rain/mud. The last time I did it was 2 years ago. It’s a fun, laid back event, very different vibe from the bigger LTF and BWR events but with great volunteers, aid stations and post ride food. The course has changed a bit each time but follows a typical pattern, has a bit of everything from gravel to urban paths to single track and rocky sections through what I assumed to be a dried up river bed. I always had a blast, I wish I could make it this year!
Definitely download the map/route. I’m not familiar with the area and would have been lost without it. There’s not hundreds of people out on the course so you might ride some miles alone.

Hey @daness40 It’ll be my first time at Strada Rossa - I’m targeting BWR SD so this will be a B event for me - and I’m not quite sure what route I’ll do - either 60 or 90…
I’ve done some research on the courses on youtube - GBC has a video and there are several more that show parts of the course and different road surfaces. Seems to be pretty typical So Cal trails, fire roads and gravel pathways. Depending on the weather conditions I’ll stick to my stock Crux set up with 38 Pathfinders or bump up to 42 Pathfinders. Looking forward to it.

I was going to do it a few years ago, but didn’t I think because of conflicting events. I’m local though.

Yeah, I’ll be running my Headlands with 45mm G-One RS. I don’t live too far from Redlands, but have never had the opportunity to ride there. I’ll have to take a look at some videos on YT, but I’m really looking forward to it.
