Does your training plan change due to strength workouts?
Strength training is scientifically proven to make cyclists faster, but if you don’t time your strength training right, it could ruin your cycling training.
There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to go the extra mile to get faster by adding in strength training, only to miss or struggle through key workouts.
A recent update to TrainerRoad fixes this problem for you.
TrainerRoad now analyzes your strength training workouts to know how it will affect your performance, then adapts your upcoming workouts to keep your training on track.
Try it Now
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Record Your Strength Workout
Any strength training activity you record and upload now shows up on your training calendar in TrainerRoad.
If you don’t record your strength training workouts, then you can manually add one to your TrainerRoad calendar by just clicking on any day and adding a custom strength training activity.
Step 2: Add Working Sets (optional)
If you are serious about your strength training and doing hard sets, you can help TrainerRoad make even more precise adjustments by telling it what sort of strength training you did.
You can specify how many working sets you did for upper, lower, or total body with just a few clicks.
If you are doing capacitive strength training like this, TrainerRoad will use this info to understand the toll of a heavy leg day vs. a heavy upper body day, helping it give you the right workout at the right time.
Step 3: Let TrainerRoad Do The Rest
TrainerRoad’s database of over 250 million activities helps it learn how strength training affects cyclists, but above all, how it affects your training.
If you’re new to strength training, TrainerRoad knows that and will be more likely to lower the intensity of upcoming workouts, or even give you rest.
But if you consistently do strength training, it knows that you likely don’t need such drastic changes to your training plan.
No matter your familiarity with mixing in strength with cycling training, TrainerRoad now knows how to help you get faster while doing both.
So my thoughts on this are:
1 - Awsome
2 - Does this cover strenght workouts Im doing from wahoo systm app? Or from any other app and if so how the TSS from those is calculated or just manually added workouts on TR calendary?
