Tacx flux s issue with 11 speed cassette and 12 speed bike

Started using my road bike on a Tacx Flux S since this week. Unfortunately I’m bumping into what seems a spacer related issue. When I connect the quick release it’s locked too strongly against the bike preventing it from spinning. When I tighten it more loosely the bike will spin but wiggles a lot and generates lots of noise.

My setup looks like this:

  • Tacx Flux S (model 2018)
  • Shimano 105 CS-5800 Cassette 11-speed
  • Bike: SRAM Force 12 speed (thru axl)

Some additional notes: I’ve used the Tacx for several years with my TT bike (Shimano 11 speed quick release ) and didn’t need any spacers at all. The spacer I’m using on the picture is the same one I used when riding my old road bike (Shimano 11 speed thru axl).

Based on this assembly kit I’m probably missing some additional spacers. What do I need to do in order to get this setup working?

There should have been end caps supplied with the trainer to enable you to use the thru axle that came with your bike 142x12. Not that shonky setup you have rigged up with a standard 5mm QR.

It would help if you told us what brand and model of bike it is? Some thru axle road bikes do have a different axle spacing

It’s a 2023 Cannondale 700 U S6 EVO Crb 1. No idea about the caps to be honest, I’m using only 1 at the moment, see picture with the Tacx components I (still) got. Also added a picture of the thru axl of my new bike if it helps:

You need this kit:

What you have was only meant for open dropout bikes with regular quick releases (not thru axle disc bikes).
