Time Trial rulebook for USA Cycling?

Hello,

I have my first time trial this Friday (Cat4 Valley of the Sun Stage Race). I have been looking for a rulebook regarding rules on positioning, specifically for the hands, but I for the life of me cannot find any documentation or explicit rules regarding position of the rider during TT’s. I ask as I know the UCI had rules regarding forearms on the bars at some point, and I dont want to get penalties on my first TT. I also know that there are drafting restrictions, but I cannot find what those explicitly are.

Does any one have a USA Cylcling rulebook specifically regarding time trails?

As long as you are racing the lower categories, there really are no restrictions. People show up on triathlon rigs all the time.

If you are racing the higher categories, as long as it is not a UCI-sanctioned race, you should be OK.

I’m having the same concerns, also doing VOS this week. Most reassuring ive found:
USAC rulebook, 3B11 says, "Furthermore, using the forearms as a point of support on the handlebar is prohibited except in time trials."

Hope that helps

Puppy paws is ok by rule in ITTs. VOS allows TT bikes so if you’re on a road bike it would be pretty F’ed if forearm support was outlawed. If you are worried just ask one of the officials at the start line.
