Damaging? Dangerous?
Or…a brilliant idea to save space?
I use the treadmill on average once a week, not the same day as a trainer session. Three trainer sessions a week.

I like the innovation, but you don’t have a lot of wiggle room for error. What about building a platform to put over the treadmill deck when you’re using the bike? One piece of plywood with 4x4s drilled in as legs with 2x4s along the edges to provide support… When you aren’t using it, you can lay it up against the wall.
Note: I only half-ass stuff at home. Building a platform sounds like doing it properly, which I can’t abide.
Potentially damaging and dangerous like that. With the front wheel on the belt (more room for play) and the trainer more “solid” but still able to move more than if on the ground you’re putting more flex and potential lateral play into the connection with the trainer. I’ve had a bike pop off the trainer under a harder sprint effort indoors, this is just adding more room for flex and movement (and this assuming the belt isn’t moving)
What is it resting on? The feet are in the air.
Anyway, the deck is probably plenty durable for this, but you will probably damage your belt. Get some plywood on there and it’s probably going to be just fine.
It’ll be fine for storage but I wouldn’t train on it. My trainer can move a fair bit in a session! At best it just warps the belt but at worst its a relatively long fall!
I have the same trainer, they’ll be loads of wobble, if you don’t get all three feet to stay on the ground. It’ll keep pulling forward.
Recipe for disaster as shown.
yea… needing to move the bike and trainer every week would not work for me
Really, picking something up and putting it down once every seven days is the most significant element at play?
Okay - I will de-mount the trainer and bike. TR Forum Has Spoken. And with one voice for once too.
@joex recommend you submit this to GCN Hack / Bodge. I’d love to hear their commentary!
Please video this and post it when it doesnt go as planned.
Oh man! I’d be scared training on that set up
100% Bodge
Is it April 1st?
Amazed you asked.
Because I’ll be lazy and try to move both while connected and probably break the frame haha
Disappointed I didn’t see this based on the thread title.
