Trainerroad Kit

Is there any chance that there could be another round of trainerroad kits? I missed out last time and would love to get my hands on a kit. I might be crazy but I thought one of the guys (jonathan or Nate) had a poll on there instagram about a new kit a while back.

They didn’t sell

Nate had mentioned that they were getting new kits, but I suspect it was only for employees. When they made the kits available last time, Nate said they just didn’t sell and it wasn’t worth it. If I can find his post from here on the forum about it, I’ll share it later.

I’m still kicking myself over missing that ordering window, I wanted some kit but hadn’t had the chance to order. My M.O. is missing ordering stuff I want though, my club redesigned kit for this year and I don’t like it as much, fortunately I still have some skinsuits of a design I like. I’d say I would be great advertising for TR, but not a lot of people to see me riding in the basement year round lol

Same here, I regret not ordering it when it was available.
If they find it too much hassle to sell it via a third party, maybe they could simply make the design template available ?

Seems to me too that people riding around with branded kit would be free advertising.

If they are worried about misrepresentation they could insert a ā€œfanā€ or ā€œsupporterā€ somewhere in the design so it’s not possible to confuse with a trainerroad employee ?

Truth. Word on the street is: there was a lot of ā€˜interest’ but not a lot of folks actually ordered, so theres no reorder in the immediate future.

I remember Peloton did shorts for the longest time but a bunch of riders wanted bibs, so they finally came up with bibs, and - they didn’t sell. Anyone with any knowledge of their ā€˜clothing’ would know that they were priced for people from some other planet, and even though they didn’t look so bad, the price was out of sight.

I’ve been on 5Boros to do bibs, and they have avoided doing them like the plague, even though I believe all their swag is made to order, and they use Primal, literally a made to order company. shrug Apple Computer had bibs (and jerseys) in the 70’s, as I remember, and are collectables now, likely not selling well either. Microsoft did jerseys, believe it or not, but they were so weird, they didn’t sell either. RoadID did jerseys and bibs, and when the bibs went on clearance sale, I snapped up 3 or 4.

Zwift had bibs at one point, and they were pricey too. Their jerseys are WOW expensive and often unavailable.

I bought over 6 of the Le Col Wahoo bibs, but they fit so well, I just couldn’t stop buying them. (Now they have gone some kind of crazy sizing, and I have to order a 2X to get the fit if a L)

Maybe they could to a MTO kit, but the manufacturers often have a minimum and not hitting that could be costly, not to mention often massive lead times.
