Is it realistic to introduce WLV2 in 2024?
It depends on what the meaning of the word “is” is.
Well strongly hinted by @Nate_Pearson on this weeks pod anyway!
That’s for RLGL, right?
Ah, listened to the whole clip, and it does sound like there’s maybe a bit (running in the background) of WLV2 woven into RLGL.
Yeah, I referenced RLGL in the text since that was the leading question above my reply, but as you heard in the clip… Nate definitely touches on WLV2. It is rather muddy water if I’m honest, so I don’t know if this is a multi-part feature release or some amount of blended ones that must come together.
As pure guess, I think it largely would need to be grouped to make the most of RLGL by actually looking at ALL the cycling efforts imported to TR. Or maybe that is just my wishful thinking that we will actually get WLV2 before the 3rd anniversary of it’s announcement
Bit of a double-dip here, but reposting my comment from the related YT vid to see what others think around here.
Has Workout Levels V2 “jumped the shark”? Gotta say that lack of discussion or feedback on the forum is interesting at the very least. Not sure if there is some “Duke Nukem Forever” level vaporware fatigue (2.8 years since first announcement) or some other reason, but this seemingly would have lit up TR user discussion in years past. No conclusion really, just interesting and a bit surprising.
Yes. I’m sure people are still anxious for its arrival but I think there’s not much left for people to say or discuss. We’re just waiting for the update that says it’s live.
It’s winter in northern hemisphere and demand for WLv2 will rise again in spring when training outside becomes more common.
At least Nate gave some honest insight about failed approaches. From then on it’s hope and wait and listening to Nate’s podcast nuggets. Meanwhile tempted by Xerts new Forecast Training. Could become an alternative for me to TR.
Dumb question: what does RLGL stand for?
Red Light Green Light
Or, perhaps, a comment that, having recognised the challenges (flaws?) inherent in “scoring” unstructured rides using the WL approach, WLV2 is to be radically reimagined and as such will never see the light of day in the manner initially envisioned.
Hope not, but decent odds in my book.
I hope not. Im not clamoring for it at this point as im not actually using a TR plan.
But definitely something that’ll be nice for future.
Not sure if this has already been discussed, but I’m wondering if @Nate_Pearson or someone familiar with it will comment on what we are seeing in progression level increases after workouts. I did pavilion this morning and besides the threshold points, it gave points for Sweetspot, tempo and endurance. Is this some version of WLV2 working it out?
It’s always been like this, some workouts have secondary progression levels
