Hi All,
I have been riding road mostly for many years and started enjoying gravel. I am not Olympian standard at all. Had some injuries so started training this week for a ride in middle of May of this year.
I have read through the forums and get the gist of it but its still overwhelming.
I only have time for one indoor session once a week of 2 hrs as the other time life takes over. I created a custom plan but it has 2 sessions as I could not choose 1 of 2 hrs so I made the first one 30 mins if I can and 2nd one of 2 hours.
Any suggestions of what to change and what workouts I can swap for the 2 hr ones?
Thanks for your help and pointers.
I am contemplating doing an MTB one so it would be harder and maybe prepare better?
Welcome
During TR build phases, with limited time per week for workouts, they have 3 sessions. Usually 1 vo2 ; 1 sweet spot; and 1 long endurance ride. If it was me I would break my 2 hour session into a 1 hour vo2 max workout and a 1 hour sweet spot immediately after. This should gain you some improvement in the 8 weeks you have.
Hey there and welcome to the TR community!
If you have very limited time to train, another option that might work well for you is TrainNow. When you’re able to get on the bike for your indoor session each week, you can use TrainNow to find a 2-hour workout and it will give you recommendations based on your recent riding.
In terms of what to focus on, we think Sweet Spot training will give you the best “bang for your buck.”
Hope that helps you get started – feel free to let us know if you have any other questions!
Thank you, sounds good. I will do that. There is a Base phase for 4 weeks. Do you think its worth shortening and replacing them? as you say.
Thank you, great link. I will work that in when I have a spare 30 mins.
